Welcome to Valley Christian Church. We
are glad you checked us out today! We are excited about our new church
ministry. You will find our church does things a little differently.
Don’t be scared…just come, sit back and relax. When you look around you,
you will find that every face you see is another person on a spiritual journey.
We’re all growing and learning. At Valley, we strive to present Biblical
truth in fresh new ways. We believe you shouldn’t have to disconnect from
the style of music you like or a good sense of humor just because you’re in
church. We hope you will like what you find and hear. Valley is a
bit different….so here are a few things you may find helpful your first time
with us.
Giving Back to God
At Valley, we are NOT after your money!
But we are concerned about pointing you to Jesus, and He’s after your HEART!
Giving to God is actually a joy! Because giving is a normal and natural part of
the Christian Life, we’re not ashamed to give back to God at Valley. In fact,
were excited about giving! “For where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also.” We want your treasure to be in God; therefore, having your heart with
God. An offering bag is passed in order to allow everyone the opportunity to
participate in the blessing of giving, if they so desire. It’s that simple. No
pressure. No guilt.
Communion
We participate in a time of remembering
Jesus (called Communion or the Lord’s Supper) each and every week here at
Valley. This is our time to reflect on the great love of Jesus that led Him to
the cross to suffer and die for our sins. You are invited to share in this time
together with us. As trays are passed, each person may take a piece of bread
(remembering Jesus’ broken body) and a cup of juice (remembering His shed
blood). After a personal time of reflection, each person may partake of the
elements.
Children’s Ministry
Our focus for the children’s ministry is
the same as our focus for the adults: “Love God – Love Others”. Rest assured,
children are not “babysat”; they will be taught from God’s Word and will enjoy
worship at their level. We are currently using Classroom 5 at the Capell
Valley Elementary School (next door) for children 6th grade and below. As
the body at Valley Christian Church grows, we hope to have activities for
children of all ages. Our teachers love the Lord and want to share Jesus with
your child.
